Our Daughter is a Miracle

By Crista Kettler - August 2009

I was once told that I would not be able to have children. Then I had my daughter, Samantha. I thought to myself, "Could I be so lucky again? Is it selfish of me to want more kids?"

I didn't want to bother God and seem like I was being greedy wanting more. While I was happy with one wonderful daughter, I wanted another.

We tried for over two years to have more children. No success.

Then, it was confirmed in June– I am pregnant. God has answered my prayer.

Now, top that off with something else we discovered. I found out I'm having twins. Wow! That doubles the blessing. God really does amaze me. I am so happy and I am overwhelmed with joy. (As of August, I am in the third month of my pregnancy, and everything is going great.)

To Joanne O’Sullivan and Healing Touches: I want to thank you, all the intercessors, and those who were on my prayer teams for praying with me and for me. God does answer prayers, and he has answered mine in multiples. Words cannot express my joy at the moment.

When I think about the gift God has given to us in Samantha, I wanted to share more details about what God has done, so that he can receive the glory.

1) Originally, the doctors said that Samantha would have Down Syndrome. She does not.

2) Samantha was born five weeks early. I had lost most of my amniotic fluid. And, she had the cord wrapped around her neck twice. Doctors worried about brain damage. But, Samantha is fine.

3) The doctors said that Samantha would be in the hospital for several weeks. However, she was not. Samantha came home with me on my birthday.

4) My hormones were so low when I was pregnant with Samantha that the doctors were not sure that I would be able to carry her full term. They thought that I would miscarry. But, I did not miscarry.

5) The doctors did not see a heartbeat by the expected time and were not sure the pregnancy would go on. I waited. One week later, there was her little heart just beating away.

Samantha truly is my miracle baby. She is my precious gift from God. Now, I am being blessed with two more children. All I can do is praise God.
