They are doing a great work reaching the unreached and touching people in the slums of their community. Last year, Pastor Jeff McGee visited Bill and Erika’s work in Fortaleza and surrounding areas. Calvary also sowed into their needs. Here is a thank you note from the Moores. Dear Church Family, Thank you for your prayers and financial support of the ministry God has entrusted to our care in Brazil! We are a team - God called Erika and me to go and He called you to send, and together we are reaching the lost for Christ. It would be impossible for us to be missionaries without your partnership in this ministry. Just as we have been blessed, we pray that God will shower His blessings on you and your family for your faithfulness to carry on His work together with us! 2009 was an awesome year. It was not without trials and tribulations, but each difficult time was a time of growth and pruning by our dear Lord, who pruned us to His perfection so we could produce the fruit He desired as we served Him in NE Brazil. We began our year with a year of very difficult changes and some specific needs to enhance our ability to reach farther into the interior of Brazil where the gospel has never been heard. Our small community came to us and asked us to help them be obedient in going and telling others about Christ and what he has done for them. This took us to Vargem Queimada where we have had the privilege of leading 47 people to Christ and baptizing 9. This small village is the home of approximately 65 people and the ones who have accepted Christ now form a church as a part of His body. In this year of 2010 we are hoping to formalize this church. On December 22nd, a group of 55 people from Grupo CEO in Maracanaú went with us to celebrate the birth of Jesus and what He has done for this community! The pre-teens put on a full cantata and Erika shared the gospel, as there were many from another near-by village who came to see with their own eyes what God was doing in the lives of the people in VQ. Three more were saved that night! We needed a truck and God in His perfect timing has provided that need. We picked up His blessing to our ministry on January 29. We lack a few dollars to complete the purchase but we know that he has already provided the final resources. Praise His holy name, for He alone is worthy!
