When she leads a group, Magan both models and gives her co-leader the opportunity to lead. As they serve together, Magan will reflect with her ministry partner, helping them to grow in confidence and understanding while they lead. In the next session, Magan will keep the same ministry partner, but allow them to lead while she steps into the support position. In this way, Magan has helped to equip many L.I.F.T. leaders at Calvary.

One exciting testimony extends beyond our walls. Several years ago, Magan came alongside Mike and Shannon Grissom in leading a L.I.F.T. Group. She led one season; they lead the next.

Following their season at Calvary, the Lord changed paths for Mike and Shannon. They moved to Kerrville, TX. Now, a few years later, the Grissoms contacted Magan to ask her to come and lead a Small Group Leaders’ Training for members of their church. With their pastor’s permission, Mike and Shannon started a L.I.F.T. Group at their church. The group grew so large, the Grissoms realized they needed to start other groups. Again, with their pastor’s permission, they contacted Magan. Now, she will be going to Kerrville to train more leaders at their church.

The Lord has used L.I.F.T. Groups here at Calvary to help us to grow in relationship with one another and to encourage us in our pursuit of the Lord. He has also used them to give us the opportunity to be equipped to serve the Lord.

Whether we do short term mission trips, servant evangelism events, or serve and lead here at Calvary, let us give ourselves whole heartedly to what the Lord is doing and to how He wants to use us to equip one another in works of ministry. What a blessing to hear of Mike and Shannon using their gifts in the place God sent them. And, what a blessing to have the opportunity, like Magan, to be a part of both mentoring Mike and Shannon and now helping them to mentor others.
