Year End Giving Letter 2007

| As 2007 comes to a
close, it is a great time to reflect on God’s faithfulness throughout
the year. The holidays are a natural time for expressions of gratitude
as we recognize the many blessings that have been bestowed upon us and
our families.
The Budget & Finance Committee (Shannon Birdwell, Lynda Gilpin, Dean Isaac, and Tom James) and Personnel Committee (Walter Bivens, Jeff Hanawalt, Susan Lee, Joe O’Sullivan, and Fred Smalley) met in October and November regarding our 2008 budget. As we reviewed our 2007 giving, we were blessed by your faithfulness, Calvary. To have a budget of over $1.2 million with the size of our congregation is a clear testimony of your obedience to God’s calling to the tithes and offerings (Malachi 3:10). Thank you for your commitment to the ministry of Calvary. As the year comes to an end, please continue to be good stewards of the gifts God has granted you. God has called us to be faithful. Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful (1 Corinthians 4:2). What we have does not belong to us. It is a gift from God. It all belongs to God. Therefore, we do with our money, possessions, positions, and relationships as he wants, because he is Lord. He knows how this thing called life works. Thank you for remembering Calvary during this Christmas season. Together, we are sowing into harvest fields, missions, and ministries both here and around the world. Have a blessed holiday! We understand that tax considerations are not the motive behind your giving, but we wanted you to be aware that there are tax advantages and implications as you consider your tithes and offerings for this year.
