Adult Bible Study Descriptions

A Study on the classic "In his steps"

“Be strong and courageous” as we cross the Jordon River, of our time, into the promised land.

Rev. Henry Maxwell, speaking slowly and determinedly, repeated his astounding proposition, “I want volunteers from First Church who will pledge themselves, earnestly and honestly, for an entire year; not to do anything without first asking the question, ‘What would Jesus do?’ Maxwell never dreamed that among those who responded would be the most influential members of his congregation. Together they pledged themselves to a new step of faith that would change, not just a handful of people, but an entire town - for good.

Let us ask and explore together, “What does it really mean to be a Christian?”!

Beginning prophecy

This class is for everyone who wants to explore prophecy and understand the biblical basis for its’ use. We will talk about what prophecy is and is not, how to get and give a word, as well as a proper way to receive one.

This will be a safe place to learn, ask questions, and risk. We will see how it works in scripture, in both old and new testaments. We will talk about habits which will create an environment to live a lifestyle of hearing the voice of the Shepherd. Come one come all. This spiritual gift is open to everyone.
Teacher: Bill Willis
Room 204B

Jesus: Life, Ministry, & Passion -  A Study of the Gospel of Luke

This study will use the Gospel of Luke as a launching point to focus on the life, ministry, and passion of our Savior. We will reference the other gospels, as well as some Old Testament prophetic books. Together we will also explore various Bible Study methods and share in some approaches to inspire us to make the Word of God a “light to our path” as we walk through Luke.
Teacher: Tammy McGee
Room 202B

Men's class "Fresh Manna"

A place for men to come together and have fun, fellowship, and minister to each other through the Holy Spirit. We will explore how the Christian man can become a better leader in the home, at work, and in the body of Christ.
Facilitator: Jim Edwards
Room 207B

The parables of jesus

Jesus spoke some of His most liberating truths and understandings to us in parables. They are full of foundational exhortations and admonitions that touch many different subjects. This is a great season for us to be refreshed and reminded along these lines and to fortify our foundations.  Understanding parables causes God’s Word to stick with us. They provide us to thought and meditation of the Word in greater detail and depth. The result is a renewed mind and a stronger foundation underneath us that God can build serious structures upon. You have something to contribute and are needed in this class as we sharpen one another. Come and join us!
